People Operations Manager BNL (Maternity Cover, 24 - 40 hours)
We are looking for a People Operations Manager for the Dutch and Belgium market to cover a maternity leave. This is a temporary position with an expected duration of 8 months. The role involves a combination of hands-on operational responsibilities as well as strategic collaboration with leaders across the organization.
The People Operations Manager will play a key role in supporting employee experience, operational excellence, and business partnering across the Dutch and Belgium market, ensuring that the employee lifecycle is managed seamlessly while fostering an inclusive, engaging, and compliant work environment.
Together with our other People Operations Manager for BNL, you will be responsible for managing all stages of the employee lifecycle for employees in the Dutch and Belgium market, driving operational efficiency, ensuring data accuracy, and delivering an exceptional employee experience from onboarding to offboarding.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Oversee the end-to-end employee lifecycle for employees in the BNL region, ensuring an engaging, consistent, and compliant experience at every stage from onboarding to offboarding.
- Work closely with leaders to ensure that employees receive the support they need to succeed, and that the company’s values are reflected in all touchpoints with employees.
- Take ownership of maintaining data accuracy in all HR systems (e.g., payroll, benefits, HRIS), ensuring that employee information is up-to-date and compliant with local laws and company policy.
- Manage and support the timely administration of employee records, ensuring that all information is processed accurately and securely.
- Supporting the monthly payroll process for employees in BNL markets, ensuring that all payroll activities are executed accurately, on time, and in line with local regulations.
- Partner with local leaders to support and manage employee relations issues, including performance management, disciplinary actions, grievances, employee absences, and dismissals.
- Experience: At least 3 years in People Operations roles, with at least 2 years of experience in People Business Partnering.
- HR Expertise: Strong knowledge of local labor laws or capability of building knowledge of, HR best practices, and employee relations management in the Netherlands. Knowledge of Belgium labor law is a plus.
- Payroll Experience: Hands-on experience managing payroll in the Netherlands or strong capability to learn, with a solid understanding of payroll processes, taxation, and compliance.
- Tech-Savvy: Familiarity with HRIS systems and other HR technology platforms, with the ability to manage and leverage data for operational improvements.
- People-Centric: Passionate about creating a positive employee experience and driving employee engagement.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Dutch (additional languages a plus). Ability to effectively communicate with diverse teams and stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex HR issues and provide pragmatic solutions.
- Cultural Awareness: Experience working in an international environment, with a deep understanding of the Dutch culture.
- (Parttime) availability between 24 and 40 hours per week.
