Role Description:

The Controller is part of the Global Accounting & Controlling organization and is responsible for leading a defined area of the organization's statutory accounting function. Responsible for the timely and accurate production and submission of all statutory returns to regulatory authorities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Timely delivery and the integrity of the internal and/or external financial statutory reporting
  • Initiate and own the strategic goals of the statutory accounting team in line with the accounting roadmap
  • Manage the annual returns and / or various statutory and statistical filings for multiple entities in accordance with all internal policies and external requirements
  • Lead the statutory accounting activities and collaborate with senior stakeholders
  • Take full ownership and responsibility of the statutory accounting process and standardization of Booking Statutory processes
  • Take and own initiate projects to increase process automation using existing and new applications
  • Take and own process improvement and efficiency initiatives (Lean)
  • Manage a team including ensuring the development of individuals within the organization. Coach and direct people to allow them to achieve both organizational and individual objectives. Is responsible for recruiting new employees
Requirements of special knowledge/skills
  • Accounting, Business, Economic degree and/or Specialized Certification, such as CRA or CPA
  • 8 - 12 years Years of relevant Job Knowledge.Years of relevant Job Knowledge
  • Experience from operational coordination of global statutory process from large multinational corporations
  • Strong IT experience in financial systems, including SAP4H, is preferable
  • Strong knowledge of NLGAAP/Dutch Accounting is required
  • Sound knowledge of US GAAP/IFRS
  • Experience in accounting within a Big4 environment is a pre
  • Proven track record in process improvement
  • Strong experience managing teams, coaching, and providing training on the job
  • Enthusiastic, proactive and driven
  • Enthusiasm about developing and leading people
  • High levels of personal effectiveness, particularly communication, organization and the ability to focus on achieving project deadlines
  • Enthusiasm to work in a fast paced, highly diverse, continuous developing and informal high achieving environment
  • Proven ability and the credibility to persuade and influence in effecting changes within an organization
  • Strong interpersonal skills and stakeholder management
  • Fluent in spoken and written English
  • Ability and willingness to travel internationally is required
