Your role

FMO seeks an Implementation Manager for the Market Creation project, aimed at bridging the financing gap towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The role involves developing unbankable opportunities into bankable projects through market creation, collaboration, and ecosystem development using public funds, with the aim to attract private investors in the next stage.

Delivery of market creation activities in our markets is done by the Impact department, the Director of which is the Project Owner, in collaboration with the sector departments and funds are raised by the P4i department. The objective of the project is to ensure that the organisation gets ready for market creation and ensure that all departments and all internal process and procedures are followed.

Responsibilities
 •  The Implementation Manager will lead the execution of the Market Creation project, ensuring adherence to project governance and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
 •  It involves project planning, budget management, risk assessment, stakeholder engagement, and reporting. The role demands independence, pragmatism, and a hands-on approach to achieve project objectives.
 •  Develop funding proposals and (assuming agreement) commence development of an MC fund raising platform; Design & develop proof of concept for investing successfully in Fragile States.
 •  The role of the implementation manager is to deliver planning and support on the implementation work stream for practical operationalization of internal end-to end processes, systems and governance as well as the new to be created MC platform and related business development.

 •  The initial assignment is for a period of 3 months. An extension for a period of 9 months is dependent on the implementation decision making process.

 •  Candidate is expected to work between 32 - 36 hours per week.
 •  Occasional working from home is possible but for this project it is expected that the PM is typically in the office.

Your background
 •  Affinity with market creation / business development (experience in developing countries is a pré.
 •  Hands-on experience in setting up and implementing processes (e.g. cost structure, legal process, compliance process) related to product development.
 •  Experience with and knowledge of product/process implementation preferably in a mid
 •  size international financial institution or in the non
 •  profit sector (e.g.

NGO).
 •  Embodies operational excellence.
 •  Independent, pragmatic, and self-starting with a hands-on mentality; result oriented mindset.
 •  Relationship capabilities, cultural sensitivity, and pro-activeness.
 •  Ability to work / manage projects in a matrix organization.
 •  Ability to influence and have analytical skills with attention to structure and detail.
 •  Project delivery excellence (get things organized, make people deliver, able to deliver under pressure whilst ensuring quality).

Additionally, candidate need to possess:

 •  More than 10 years of relevant work experience as a senior implementation consultant or advisor with approximately 3- 5 years as project lead.
 •  Strong command of English and preferably Dutch, both verbally and in writing.

Experience in the impact investing/ development banking would be an advantage.
