What are you going to do?
In the role of senior mechanical engineer with Demcon, you will be working on a big variety of complex systems and products. You are responsible for the mechanical aspects of the designs and will work closely together with other expertises in Delft to deliver on the entire system.
Mechatronics, electronics, software and the production of the concepts and prototypes are important expertises joined in the multidisciplinary teams.
You will be involved in all phases of the project. From specification, concept until the integration of the different parts. In which you make sure that the concept is well executed, by making calculations and test setups. If you encounter specific parts that should be outsourced, you find the right partners to realise these critical components.
In short, you make sure that the system is designed and realised accordingly. During this trajectory you converse with the other disciplines and feel responsible for the end product - especially for the part that you have ownership of. Because the team has a lot of junior mechanical engineers, it is also your forte to coach the junior engineers on their role in the project and transfer your technical knowledge onto them.
Since we do a lot of work in different fields, like: High tech, Space, Life sciences and Health - it is beneficial if you have a broad interest as to what projects you want to work on. The main thing being that all of these projects contribute in their own way to society.
As a senior engineer you will have a lot of freedom - and with that responsibility to define which projects suit your background most. You do this in close contact to your engineering manager. This open way of working defines our culture, just like our personal and diverse working environment.
What do you bring to the table?
• A completed university degree in Mechanical Engineering, Physics or Material Sciences;
• Minimally 7 years of relevant experience in the role of mechanical engineer in the development of systems within High Tech, Space or Life Science & Health;
• You thrive when working on precision mechanics construction principles, methods for analysis and DFX;
• You know your way around 3D CAD, preferably SolidWorks;
