Overview

Pharming is seeking to hire a Director, Business Development Financial Evaluations to lead the valuation processes for in-licensing and/or acquiring opportunities. Our goal is for Director, Business Development Financial Evaluations to own the financial evaluation model which is developed in close collaboration with Finance, Commercial and Project Management.
Successful execution will involve working cross-functionally to gather relevant information, synthesize the materials, and develop comprehensive opportunity assessments consistent with our corporate business development strategy. This position will initially not have direct reports.

Key Responsibilities

The Director, Business Development Financial Evaluations will be responsible for a wide variety of matters in support of Pharming's growth as we increase the number of both pipeline and marketed products.

Core functions include:

 •  Developing competitive landscape and delivering market sizing analysis.
 •  Building the forecast model for external products and candidates for all deals in BD&L.
 •  Creating valuation model and be accountable for assumptions.
 •  Managing interface with commercial teams and ensuring alignment with project assumptions.
 •  Defining need for KOL research, running studies, and analyzing results.
 •  Conducting quantitative and qualitative market research to aid in the analysis of opportunities.
 •  Presenting business cases to commercial for approval.
 •  Orchestrating detailed comparator deal analysis and run align proposed terms for new collaborations.
 •  This is a hybrid role; need to report to the Warren, NJ office 2 to 3 days per week.

Minimum Qualifications
 •  MBA or equivalent from an accredited university is highly preferred.
 •  6+ years' experience in Commercial Sales and Marketing with strong financial acumen. preferably in the Pharmaceutical/Biotech/Life Sciences industries.

Preferred Qualifications
 •  Technical expertise in Rare Disease therapeutic areas of interest preferred.
 •  Experience operating in a matrix organization.
 •  Understanding of financial modeling, including profit and loss, balance sheet, cash flow statements, and discounted cash flow models.
 •  Understanding how a target product profile and a patient funnel is generated and how it impacts the financial model.
 •  Some level of experience with business development, delivery mindset, team orientation, strong network in external biomedical community.
 •  Strong entrepreneurial mindset, scientific & M&A know-how.
 •  Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to align internal stakeholders.
