DEME is already the largest operator of green vessels in the sector to minimize its own carbon footprint and its new vessels are equipped with innovative dual fuel engines, which are capable of running on LNG and diesel fuel.
For the further development of its fleet and associated procurement activities, DEME is now looking for an experienced and dynamic professional Senior Procurement Engineer for its Procurement Category "Vessels".
As Senior Procurement Engineer for Vessels & Newbuilds, you will report to the Procurement and Category Manager for "Vessels" procurement. You will be responsible for the procurement services of newbuilds and conversion works of high-technology vessels for offshore installation and dredging vessels.

You will be based in our procurement office in Luxembourg.

 •  You will conduct market research, securing up-to-date market knowledge of the shipbuilding industry.
 •  You will contribute to develop and manage a reliable supply chain network in the shipbuilding industry to enhance DEME fleet capabilities.
 •  You will participate in cross functional teams that work on sourcing projects and continuous improvement.
 •  You will have a key role in selecting shipyards and equipment suppliers and preparing the requests for qualification.
 •  You will prepare Request for Quotation and lead the bids' clarifications / evaluations phase.
 •  You will support the negotiations with suppliers and the contract drafting until closing.
 •  You will provide a clear commercial bid evaluation and a recommendation for award.
 •  You will perform daily procurement tasks, including suppliers' expediting, inspection and logistics services as necessary for owner furnished equipment.
 •  You will maintain and monitor the agreements with suppliers / contractors / shipyards.
 •  Master or Bachelor degree in Engineering, Economics, or equal by experience.
 •  Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience in a procurement role or management of projects & operations in in shipbuilding and/or major conversion projects.
 •  Interest and affinity for technical subjects (technical drawings and characteristics) and willingness to develop in this field.
 •  Excellent analytical skills and problem-solving mentality.
 •  Strong negotiation and communication skills.
 •  Project Management skills and relevant experience in drafting and negotiating contracts and commercial terms and conditions.
 •  You are willing to travel for business overseas regularly.
 •  Fluent in English.

In this function, you will report to the Category Manager "EPC Submarine Cable Systems" with a requirement to lead a team of experienced and motivated procurement professionals and to manage your work in close cooperation with the respective internal clients and Project Teams located worldwide.
