Taxanomy Engineer

Introduction

The Knowledge Management (KM) Capability sits at the intersection of enterprise platform service design, semantic data engineering, and taxonomy governance. The team enhances knowledge discovery and unstructured data consumption across ASML systems by developing scalable knowledge graph features, data transformation pipelines, and collaborating cross-functionally to optimize user experience on the Progress Semaphore platform.

Role and Responsibilities

• Define system architecture for taxonomy and ontology management, outlining components, data flow, and integration points.
• Select and align the tech stack with organizational infrastructure and project goals.

• Provide training and support to stakeholders on new KM tools and systems.

• Design and implement technical frameworks for PoCs, define success criteria, and configure environments.
• Manage execution and evaluate outcomes to assess feasibility for full-scale deployment.

• Align with security standards and conduct technical assessments (e.g., vulnerability scans).
• Implement encryption, access control, and secure coding practices.

• Define and configure Single Sign-On (SSO) requirements and ensure seamless integration and testing.
• Manage TOMS access to ensure proper authorization for taxonomy management.

• Identify integration points across key platforms (e.g., CRM, ERP) and define APIs and communication protocols.
• Oversee integration development and resolve technical challenges.

• Establish and manage protocols for unit, integration, and user acceptance testing.
• Address and resolve defects identified during testing.

• Maintain up-to-date technical documentation (architecture, APIs, user guides).
• Facilitate knowledge handoff to support and IT teams.

• Design and deliver training programs to ensure effective system use and adoption.

• Track and report KPIs (adoption, search effectiveness, content accuracy) to drive data-informed decisions.

• Experience of working with Graphwise PoolParty software.
• Experience designing, developing, and managing taxonomies and ontologies for enterprise use.
• Strong understanding of metadata modeling, governance, and versioning to ensure consistency across systems.
• Familiarity with auto-tagging implementation and optimization using taxonomy management systems.
• Experience configuring and maintaining taxonomies for automated tagging in SharePoint.
• Knowledge of integrating taxonomy structures with API-driven workflows, including MuleSoft-based implementations.
• Understanding of SKOS, RDF, OWL, SPARQL, and other semantic web standards for structuring taxonomies and ontologies.
• Ability to conduct taxonomy audits, gap analyses, and performance monitoring to improve tagging accuracy.
• Experience collaborating with engineering, IT, and business teams to align taxonomy efforts with enterprise data strategy.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for refining taxonomy structures and ensuring usability.
• Ability to document taxonomy frameworks, tagging guidelines, and governance policies for long-term scalability.
