Team Lead – Supply Chain Recruitment (North America & Europe)

Our client is a large chemical manufacturing company with 2,500 employees, specializing in performance additives, specialty resins, and functional intermediates. With annual revenue of approximately €2 billion, they operate production and distribution sites across Europe and the US, with their global headquarters in China.

The company is recognized for innovation, high‑quality products, and operational excellence, serving industries such as coatings, plastics, electronics, and personal care.

Role Overview

We are seeking a Head of Supply Chain to lead the end‑to‑end supply chain function across global operations. The successful candidate will have prior experience in a large chemical manufacturing company, proven expertise in managing complex supply chains, and the ability to work closely with international teams.

The role requires on‑site presence in Amsterdam three days per week and travel to China three times per year to meet with the global leadership team. It includes managing a team of eight direct reports.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement end‑to‑end supply chain strategies to optimize operations, improve efficiency, and support business growth.
  • Oversee global planning, procurement, production scheduling, logistics, inventory management, and distribution.
  • Ensure supply chain continuity and risk mitigation across Europe, the US, and Asia.
  • Collaborate with R&D, Production, Quality, and Commercial teams to align supply chain operations with business objectives and new product launches.
  • Drive cost optimization initiatives while maintaining quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.
  • Implement and monitor supply chain KPIs to track performance, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with chemical industry regulations, import/export controls, and sustainability standards.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high‑performing supply chain team of eight direct reports.
  • Drive digitalisation and continuous improvement initiatives to modernise supply chain processes.
  • Travel internationally to meet key stakeholders, attend strategic meetings, and support the global leadership team in China.
Key Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field; MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of supply chain experience in a large chemical manufacturing company, with 5+ years in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience managing global supply chains across multiple regions (Europe, US, Asia).
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Willingness to work onsite 3 days per week in Amsterdam and travel internationally, including 3 trips per year to China.
