Viasat’s maritime business unit Inmarsat is the leader in global mobile satellite communications at sea. Thousands of vessels rely on our unrivalled end-to-end service availability and coverage for operational communications and safety services.

We offer the broadest portfolio of mobile voice and data solutions on the market, so we can meet the needs of all types and size of vessel – and every budget.

The Inbound Sales Representative will take ownership for maintaining & growing revenue with existing named Inmarsat customers and also driving new business generation. The role includes engaging with our smaller customers (both directly and partners) remotely using digital tools like Teams, phone, Email, etc.
They will provide exceptional first-line service and support, receiving orders, developing leads, and seeking opportunities to present additional products and services to customers, globally. This key sales driven role requires timely and accurate responses to all incoming emails, fielding inbound calls from new and existing customers, while providing support and guidance to help customers with their buying enquiries and decisions.
This requires working closely with other relevant departments within Viasat, in providing excellent customer experience. while consistently delivering in sales revenue streams to achieve and exceed monthly personal objectives and Inside Sales team targets.

Candidates should take great pride in developing lasting relationships, building great rapport and using their first-rate communication skills to generate revenues.

The day-to-day:

Key Focus Areas:

  • Play a key role in nurturing existing smaller customers while developing sales leads, upsell and cross-sell Inmarsat products & services
  • Verify and qualify new sales leads from marketing qualified leads into sales qualified leads
  • Providing timely, professional, and accurate responses to all incoming sales enquiries received by phone, email, and other formats.
  • Accurately record all interactions in the CRM System (SalesForce).
  • Meeting monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets
  • Meeting individual objectives consistently including quality target
  • Provide excellence through internal sales processes & customers service processes

What you'll need:

Key Responsibilities:

  • - Support, maintain and upsell Inmarsat portfolio to an identified group of smaller customers
  • Prospecting & Lead Generation:
  • Identify and qualify potential customers through various channels, including phone calls, emails and social media.
  • Research and build target account lists.
  • Lead Qualification & Nurturing:
  • Qualify leads based on predefined criteria and determine their potential value.
  • Schedule and conduct product presentations using digital conference tools.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with potential customers.
  • Cultivate leads through personalized communication and follow-up.
  • Sales Closing:
  • Negotiate and close deals efficiently.
  • Accurately forecast and track sales activity.
  • Meet and exceed individual and team sales quotas.
  • Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Saleforce:
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all sales activities in the CRM system, Salesforce.
  • Use Salesforce to track leads, manage opportunities, and analyze sales performance.
  • Communication & Collaboration:
  • Communicate effectively with prospects, customers, and internal teams (e.g., marketing, customer success teams).
  • Collaborate with marketing to develop and complete successful campaigns.
  • Continuous Learning & Development:
  • Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and new product offerings.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance sales skills.

What will help you on the job:

Essential Knowledge and Skills
  • Background experience in B2B sales role based on solution-based selling, dealing with customers (Maritime) and partners - ideally Telecommunication/IT sector, Maritime industry
  • Sales techniques – familiar with Solution based-, consultative-, needs-based selling methodology
  • Proficient in using Sales Force CRM
  • Remotely – comfortable with customer interaction remotely using Telephone, Email, Video conference and other digital tools.
  • Excellent Communication Skills – clearly conveying information and ideas through a variety of media to customers in a manner that engages, helps them understand product & services benefits both technically and commercially
  • Strong Social Skills – Ability to build rapport, establish trust, and maintain positive relationships remotely.
  • Customer Service – understand the customer's needs by providing and delivering professional, effective, high-quality support before, during, and after sales
  • Target Driven – eager to meet and exceed personal and team milestones and targets
  • Time management and Organisation – establish ways to ensure that your work is completed effectively and efficiently

Desirable Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge of Inmarsat products, services and solutions
  • A firm understanding of global businesses and understanding the challenges faced by business owners
  • Knowledge of Maritime ICT and data communication
