For the Global Business Project Organization (BPO) department, DHL Express is looking for a motivated, people-focused, and results-oriented colleague who will participate in, and ensure implementation of Global BPO strategy, focusing specifically within the Program, Project and Change Management landscape.
BPO - a team that transforms finance
Our Global Business Project Organization (BPO) department has a global scope and predominantly consists of standardized project roles: Project & Change Managers and Business Analysts. Globally our team has over 80 members, based in 3 locations: Maastricht (The Netherlands), Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) and San Jose (Costa Rica).Our team is focused on deploying various systems, processes and tools across the Express Finance Organization, with several projects also touching other functions such as Operations, Pricing and Sales.
Working within BPO is both exciting and challenging as we are active within multiple functional areas of DHL Express organization and strongly focused on digitalization and automation (data science, robotics). As Senior Director of Project and Change Management you will be part of our Global Express BPO Finance organization and will be based in our Shared Service Center in Maastricht. You will be reporting into the VP Global Head of Express Finance BPO.
How will you contribute to the success of DHL?
The Senior Director of Project and Change Management is responsible for leading and managing a dynamic team of Project Managers and Change Managers, ensuring the successful delivery of strategic, innovative, and high-impact projects that exceed stakeholder expectations.This role involves fostering a culture of growth and development within the team, empowering members to enhance their skills and capabilities.
In addition, the Senior Director will drive the development and implementation of global standards, guidelines, frameworks, and best practices for program, project, and change management within Global Finance BPO. This includes spearheading capability-building initiatives to elevate project initiation and consulting skills across the organization.By aligning with the broader strategic direction of the BPO, the Senior Director will play a pivotal role in building a robust pipeline of initiatives that leverage BPO expertise and resources, ultimately contributing to the organization's success and operational excellence.

You will develop and maintain a high-performing team of Project and Change Managers (10+ FTE), ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their roles. By establishing clear performance expectations and implementing structured career development plans, you will recognize and retain top talent while preparing the next generation of leaders within the project management function.

The ideal candidate for the Senior Director of Project and Change Management position will possess a robust blend of extensive experience in program and project management, particularly within an international finance context, along with a proven track record in people management and development.This individual will demonstrate a results-driven approach, embodying DHL's core values and leadership competencies while effectively engaging and supporting their team. With strong analytical skills and the ability to navigate complex stakeholder landscapes, the candidate will excel in fostering collaboration and building lasting partnerships.
A digital mindset and familiarity with automated project management solutions will further enhance their capability to drive innovation and continuous improvement in project delivery.
- Extensive Experience:10-15 years of program/project management experience in an international environment, ideally with a strong focus on finance-related topics or alternatively solid finance knowledge.
- Proven People Management Skills:A track record in successful people management, demonstrating the ability to develop and support teams with empathy.
- Educational Background:Minimum Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Finance, Project Management, Change Management, IT, or business), ideally with certifications in Project Management and leadership.
- Strong Stakeholder Management:Excellent ability to communicate and manage relationships with diverse audiences, including senior leaders and external partners.
- Digital Mindset:Proven inclination towards digital innovation and ideally experience with automated project management solutions.
- Resilience and Adaptability:Ability to thrive under pressure, maintain integrity and confidentiality, and continuously seek improvement with an open, innovative mindset.
