A Chapter Lead forms the most important connection between the developers and the Chapter Area Lead in making sure that the developers receive day-to-day coaching. As Chapter Lead you form the most important connection between the (business) developers and the Chapter Area Lead in making sure that the (business) developers receive day-to-day coaching. While attributed limited managerial capabilities (15 FTE max.), you still spend about 70% of your day-to-day activities on non-managerial tasks like developing code and defining standard or best practices.About 30% of your time is spent on directly coaching your Chapter members.
In short, a chapter lead is responsible for the “how” within the competence of the chapter in terms of way of working and people management. You are responsible for:- Being an active block member, bringing expertise into the block and working on day-to-day tasks from the block’s backlog
- Defining professional standards, work methodologies and (technical) standards within the chapter competency
- Setting up interaction and knowledge sharing processes within the chapter
- Aligning with peer Chapter Leads within the same expertise for knowledge sharing processes across chapters where applicable (ie Java, Angular)
- Act as a thought-leader within their area of expertise, guiding, motivating and inspiring chapter members.
- Lead performance evaluation from their direct reports by coaching them both on soft- and hard skills.
Importantly, while you provide sparring and craft-specific support to your Chapter members, you do not manage their day-to-day activities.
Three main types of responsibilities:- Define best practice way of working
- Perform strategic workforce (for your chapter, together with the Chapter Area Lead)
- Manage and grow people, make hiring decisions and perform HR administrative tasks like Performance dialogs, Time approvals, etc.

Je profiel- University working and thinking level
- 8 years of relevant work experience, function and at least 3 years of experience in IT services
- Knowledge of financial services and current trends in the field of investing/securities transactions, products, processes, Agile, DevOps and Lean methodologies, relevant infrastructure, back-end systems, platforms, applications, IT outsourcing, Service Management processes and procedures, software development and Application Program Interfaces (APIs)
- Experience in the field of expertise required by this Chapter Lead profile (so experienced in Python for a Chapter Lead – Python job profile, experienced in Java if applying for a Chapter Lead – Java job profile etc.)
- Experience in finding the right balance between acting in the interests of the customer, compliancy with laws and regulations and lifecycle management of the systems, so that they are up-to-date and safe. You see this as a challenge, for which you like to come up with creative solutions
- Used to working in an international environment - English is necessary
- Cultural sensitivity is important, as you will work with different nationalities
- Preferably experience with Clearing business
