• Category Vision and Strategy: Manage the development and execution of multi-year strategies based on business and market intelligence, Urenco policies and Urenco-wide cross-functional buy-in from stakeholders.
• Strategic Sourcing Alignment: Use agreed category strategies to maintain alignment with Project execution, Construction, Engineering, Compliance, Legal, Risk, Finance, Safety, and other teams, continuously re-evaluating and improving Urenco procurement.
• Negotiation Strategy: Develop high-level negotiation strategies, organize procurement sourcing results, and then communicate outcomes to senior management.
• Supplier Selection: Oversee supplier selection and performance management through applying subject matter expertise in procurement processes and policies, and market intelligence to develop, and influence strategies cross-functionally that reduce costs, mitigate risks, and enable scalable execution with consistency, accuracy, quality, and timeliness of delivery.
• Contracting: Understand industry contracting norms and Urenco contracting requirements. Successfully facilitate negotiation of final contracts that achieve business goals. Provide strategic oversight for improving existing, or establishing new Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and/or defined milestones and deliverables, holding accountability and ownership of SLAs, and ensuring compliance is cascaded through the business
• Supplier Engagement: Proactively segment suppliers and utilizes engagement programs to improve performance and achieve business goals aligned to category strategy objectives.
• Continuous Improvement: always seeking ways to streamline, automate, and simplify processes. Drive continuous improvement for team and categories under management.
• Risk Management: constantly scanning for changes in internal, external, or supply chain changes and develop plans to mitigate risks and maximise opportunities to secure value for Urenco.
• Team management: Lead a team of 6 Senior Buyers and Buyers to deliver the annual Procurement Plan through delivery of projects included in the category strategy and support to business partner nominated projects to meet site needs. Develop the skills, capabilities, and performance of the team through active and ongoing feedback, coaching, and mentoring.
