Our client is a major organisation within the Logistics Distribution and Supply Chain sector, operating multiple automated and high‑volume warehouse locations across the Netherlands. Known for their dynamic environment, continuous improvement mindset, and large-scale operations, they offer professionals a challenging and impactful interim assignment.

Functie

In this role as Interim Capacity and Control Room Manager you will:

  • Oversee the Capacity Planning function and the Control Room teams across multiple warehouse locations.
  • Act as the central sparring partner for senior internal management and key external stakeholders, ensuring alignment on capacity, forecasting, and operational direction.
  • Provide strategic insight into performance figures, trends, constraints, and opportunities, and advise on required improvements.
  • Lead and develop 3-5 direct reports (Control Room Managers and Team Lead Capacity Planning) and indirectly 50+ planners and control room specialists.
  • Ensure optimal daily and long‑term capacity utilisation across highly automated warehouse environments.
  • Translate forecasts and business expectations into clear, tactical and strategic planning frameworks.
  • Initiate and drive improvement projects aimed at increasing throughput, efficiency, and predictability.
  • Prepare structured analyses, recommendations, and management reports to support decision‑making at senior level.
  • Work primarily on‑site in Waalwijk, with occasional travel to additional warehouse locations.

Profiel

For this role as Interim Capacity and Control Room Manager:

  • 8+ years of management experience within logistics, supply chain, fulfillment, or operations environments.
  • A background in leading analytical or control‑room‑related teams.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, able to operate at senior and customer‑facing level.
  • A highly analytical mindset, capable of interpreting data, identifying bottlenecks, and translating insights into clear improvement actions.
  • Ability to oversee planning activities without performing operational planning themselves.
  • Fluent communication skills in Dutch and English.
  • A hands‑on yet strategic approach: able to stand above the operation and guide it effectively.
  • Availability for a 3‑month interim assignment, with the flexibility to work primarily on‑site.
