About the Role

HR Generalist – Fixed-Term Contract, 7 Months

We are looking for an organised and hands-on HR Generalist to provide interim support on a seven-month fixed-term contract.

You will support day-to-day HR operations across the Netherlands, Germany, France, the United Kingdom, the United States and Japan, with a focus on HR administration, compliance and employee lifecycle processes.

You will also contribute to key HR projects, including the implementation of a new HRIS, streamlining employee lifecycle processes, and exploring how automation and AI can make HR operations more efficient and future-ready.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate HR administration across the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, employee changes, probation periods, leave and offboarding.
  • Prepare employment contracts, amendments and other HR documentation, while maintaining accurate personnel files and HR system data.
  • Act as a first point of contact for employees on day-to-day HR and administrative matters.
  • Coordinate sick leave, absence administration and related follow-up.
  • Support employee relations matters, including grievances, disciplinary processes, and termination processes.
  • Coordinate right-to-work checks, visa and immigration processes, 30% ruling applications, and Employer of Record arrangements.
  • Monitor employment-law requirements and support policy updates and other HR compliance activities.
  • Work closely with payroll, finance, and management to ensure smooth and accurate HR operations.
  • Contribute to the new HRIS implementation, HR reporting, process documentation and other HR projects as needed.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline HR workflows through automation and AI.
Requirements
  • 1-4 years of experience in an HR Generalist, in HR Operations or in a similar role.
  • Practical knowledge of Dutch employment law and HR compliance.
  • Experience supporting employee lifecycle processes, including onboarding, leave, employee changes and offboarding.
  • Experience supporting employee relations matters.
  • Experience coordinating immigration and right-to-work processes.
  • Experience in an international organisation or exposure to HR practices outside the Netherlands is an advantage.
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Comfortable working with HR systems, employee data and process improvement initiatives.
  • A relevant MBO or HBO qualification in Human Resources, Business Administration, Law or a related field.
  • Professional fluency in English; Dutch is an advantage.
  • Based in the Netherlands and authorised to work without visa sponsorship.
